EYE magazine, 62/winter issue

In the EYE magazine, issue 62, Christian Schwartz discusses swashes and their recently rekindled acceptance in the visual realm of the twentieth century. Illustrations accompanying the article “Back with a Flourish”show examples of titling caps with a contemporary twist of characteristic flourishes and swashes, among them Odile Deco Initials.

Swiss Federal Design Grant

The typeface family Odile received the Swiss Federal Design Awards 2006, “Selected—Awarded”, by the Swiss Federal Office of Culture. The awarded designs are presented in an accompanying catalog and an exhibition at the Museum für Gestaltung in Zürich, Switzerland, displays the selected works. The typeface family Odile was awarded before its public release and distribution.

Emigre Fonts Type Specimens Volume 1

This book features type specimens designed by individual type designers which fonts are distributed by the Emigre type foundry. The hardbound book titled Emigre Fonts Type Specimens Volume 1 is a limited edition and published by Emigre. It contains the Chollaspecimen booklet designed in 2002.

Ilene Strizver’s book Type Rules!: The Designers Guide to Professional Typography, 2nd edition, includes a typographic design with Cholla by Sibylle Hagmann. This design originally appeared in the Cholla specimen booklet published by Emigre.
